Wabi Sabi Arts

(NormiShamblin)
Wabi Sabi Arts, a name I love and respect. It suits both me, as an astist, and the art I create. My current emphasis is on the 'funky & functional' with a little 'fine art' thrown in for good measure.

The 'pique assiette' style of mosaics presents the creative challenge I crave. It also gives me the satifaction of knowing that the materials I use end up as art, and not in the landfill.

A very modern wieu to do mosaic.....Beautiful stones....It's a old noise, the throb of the hammer on the stones and it's a surprise that such stones become art...

Gold and transparent glass, 2005. Head of the goddess, with layers of colour under transparent glass intimating masks upon masks, and the profound movement of both organised and chaotic spiritual identity.

Silver and Glold Black Irid Mosaic Bowls

(RonaldBell)
These Mosaic bowls are created from Bulseye Art glass. They are cut and assembled then fired into a single piece. They are returned to the kiln for a fire polish after the edges have been cold-worked on a wet-belt sander. The final firing is to slowly slump the piece into a ceramic mold. Each piece is unique!

Mosaics are not just tesserae that when gathered form an illustration, they are groups of visions, sensations and expectations, and that's why they can express much more than you idealize, they express emotions.

Reclamation Studios

(KimWozniak)
I am compelled to build. I am driven by the materials of construction and challenging these simple elements into unexpected forms. By juxtaposing them against each other they are given a voice. The permanence and tactile qualities of my materials allow me to entice my thoughts into a structure, and that structure to challenge the thoughts of others. To leave an impression that remains beyond me and my physical existence, like the hands of a child pressed into a freshly poured sidewalk.

Mistflower Studio

(ValerieFuqua)
Throughout my life I've been intrigued by found objects and have felt an urgent need to create. Mosaics allow me to nourish my creative soul by taking something broken and forming a new whole. I find it incredibly satisfying
combining the old with the new, creating a marriage of sorts and giving items a second life.

My designs often come to me in my dreams and at times express what I'm unable to put into words.

My mosaics reflect the textures seen in life's tapestry, whether natural or manmade. The blending of materials
encourages the viewers' eyes to dance across my mosaics, tempting them to discover the many nuances and
hidden treasures in each piece.
