Karen Ami
Mosaics satisfy my urge to make things whole, using color, texture and light.I use my artwork to illustrate our emotional and bodily presence in the world. My work explores sense of awareness by combining materials such as smoothness of clay and the brittleness of glass.

My passion for mosaics lead me to establish The Chicago Mosaic School, the first non profit Mosaic Arts School in the United States.
