Dear Diary

I did this portrait after a friend's beloved Rottweiler died. There was a photo of him having fallen asleep on an open book. I wanted to use this and give it more meaning to his owner, so I wrote an entry into a diary as if the dog had written it himself.
I incorporated his ashes into the grout of the dog image, and featured ephemeral paw prints drifting off the page.
Materials: glass, beads, stone, paper, paint, shells.
