Hi, I'm new to the forum and new to mosaic tile art. I have had a go at creating a mosaic in a window which I have managed to finish afer alot of frustrating effort. The biggest problem I seem to have is cutting the tiles to the shape I want, they seem to crumble into nothing am I using the wrong cutters? should I be using wheel cutters? also are there some tiles I should be avoiding? I would be very grateful for any tips. Many thanks C

Hi, I'm fairly new to mosaic art as well but I do know that if your trying to cut small glass pieces you really need to use glass tile nippers ( the ones with the two cutting wheels), if you Google it you'll see what they are. The Mosaic Tile Nippers (if you Google that too) are more for ceramics. That was the first tool I got and they did what you described, made a lot of pieces just crumble. I'm not trying to promote any particular site but Mosaic Art Supply.com had a lot of informative stuff on it. I ordered some colorful glass tiles from there and they seemed pretty reasonable.
